Designer Kristen Ashbaugh-Helmreich of Kristen In Stitches, an avid hiker, camper and all-around national parks fan, has designed the Natural Wonders Shawl with full-skein fingering-weight trios from the A National Parks New Year countdown box from Indie Untangled! The speckled, semisolid and variegated colorways fade together in a blend of textured stitches and eyelets that evoke the beauty of U.S. national parks in winter.
The following trios are also available:
Murky Depths Dyeworks/Why Knot Fibers/Jems Luxe Fibers inspired by a photo of the Chautauqua Wildlife Refuge by Emily Hodapp of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (this yarn is in the third sample photo)
McMullin Fiber Co./Three Fates Yarns/Chrysalis Yarn Co. inspired by a photo of Crater Lake National Park by Steve Schwindt (this yarn is in the fourth sample photo)
Sew Happy Jane/Leo & Roxy Yarn Co./Yarnaceous Fibers inspired by a photo of Yosemite National Park, photo by National Park Service (this yarn is in the ninth sample photo)

This shawl almost knits itself, it’s a calming repeat and fun to see emerge. Although the pattern calls for fringe, I chose to leave it off and weave in the ends.
The yarn colors are beautiful and go very well together.
The pattern is addicting with the color and pattern changes. The best part is there are no ends to weave in!!! This shawl is just the right size. I really like the rustic texture. enjoy!
