Karin of Miss La Motte Yarn collaborated with designer Nidhi Kansal to create this colorway, called Ocean Blue, for the second installment of the 2023 Indie Untangled Where We Knit Yarn Club. For the club, dyers and designers create a colorway and an accompanying accessory pattern, drawing inspiration from various places where they whip out their works in progress:
Karen, who is based in Cape Town, South Africa, and Nidhi, in Mumbai, India, are inspired by the vast ocean, and the vibrant islands — Maldives, Seychelles and Zanzibar — and cities — Chefchauoen in Morocco, Africa, and Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India — that lie between them.
This vibrant colorway will be dyed on Lustre, a blend of 50% Superwash Merino, 15% Mulberry Silk, 15% kidsilk mohair and 20% polyamide. It comes in 437-yard skeins.
Use it to knit Nidhi's Nilay shawl, as seen on Ravelry. Pronounced nee-lay, it means home, safe haven, refuge.
This is a limited preorder, available through December 15. The yarn will ship in early January.
