The ninth year of the Indie Untangled Where We Knit yarn club brings together four new indie dyer and designer teams from around the world. Each pair will create a colorway and an accompanying accessory pattern, drawing inspiration from various places where they whip out their works in progress.
The club will start in February 2024. Every three months, you will receive one or two skeins of hand-dyed yarn in an exclusive colorway, a digital pattern that will be exclusive for six months and a special gift based on the theme of each installment. Shipping is included in the listed price.
After each installment ships out, you'll be invited to participate in an interactive Zoom interview with each team, learning more about their collaboration.
Here are the teams for 2024 (each of their inspiration photos are shown in the image collage here, clockwise starting from the top left):
~February~
Bad Lux Designs and Kacey Herlihy
City Knitting: Kacey is from New York City and Kate is from Denver, and they're both inspired by knitting in the city. Whether they’re commuting or cozied up in a cafe while it snows, they always have their knitting with them, ready to sneak in a few rows any chance they get. Their urban adventures are stitched into their projects, serving as a reminder of where they’ve been and where they’re going.
~May~
Wooldreamers/316 Dye Studio and Moody Knitter Design
Hydrangea: Nature is an eternal muse, a wellspring of creativity that never runs dry for this creative team, which spans Spain, Kansas and Italy. The hydrangea, with its endless range of shades and captivating shape, symbolizes the gratitude, understanding and connection to nature that Bea, Jenny and Stella want to express in their collaboration.
~August~
AT Haynes House Yarns and Mother of Purl
My Own Little Corner: Wood stoves keep designer Lauren and her family warm in Wisconsin winters. Terri's color and Lauren's design will also take inspiration from the 1997 film Cinderella, in which singer Brandy performs "In My Own Little Corner" as the title character, imagining the lives she could live.
~November~
Tanis Fiber Arts and Andrea Rangel
The Forest and the Moon: Tanis and Andrea, based on the opposite sides of Canada, are inspired to explore the border between the tree line and sky, playing with the velvety, delicate lines of branches and the softness of the moon.
