An image collage featuring a photograph of a skylit hallway with a checkered floor; a row of pastel cabins on a beach; a painting of a Black woman posing in front of a bright green plant in a yellow pot; an indigo-dyed garment next to the sides of Delft blue plates.

Want to ease up on the stashing? Sponsor an installment or the full club for a low-income maker!

The seventh year of the Indie Untangled Where We Knit yarn club brings together four new indie dyer and designer teams from around the world. Each pair will create a colorway and an accompanying accessory pattern, drawing inspiration from various places where they whip out their works in progress.

The club will start in February 2022. Every three months, you will receive one to two skeins of hand-dyed yarn in an exclusive colorway, a PDF pattern that will be exclusive for six months and a special gift based on the theme of each installment. After each installment ships out, you'll be invited to participate in an interactive Zoom interview with each team, learning more about their collaboration.

Here are the teams for 2022 (each of their inspiration photos are shown in the image collage here, clockwise starting from the top left):

~February~
Plies & Hellhounds and Milly's Knit Designs

Cafes, Boutiques and Travel: Gabby hails from Connecticut and Crystal is based in Minnesota and both share a love of travel. Wherever in the world their passports take them, their love of making and fiber follows. Dreaming of all the next places on their list, their inspiration comes from a photo Gabby captured on holiday with her husband in Paris. They hope to transport you to your next dream destination.

~May~
Émilia & Philomène and Marion Em Knits

Sandy Knits: Amélie (Emilia & Philomene) and Marion are from two different parts of the world but are both used to knit close to the water. As soon as the spring begins, you can find grains of sand in the bottom of their projects bags. This picture was taken on a beach in the North of France, where hiding behind those colorful cabins is necessary to avoid the chilly wind of May.

~August~
Neighborhood Fiber Co. and Julie At Work

Warm Energy: Karida and Julie take inspiration from their respective homes in Baltimore and Brooklyn. Food For The Bees, a painting by Baltimore artist Megan Lewis, hangs in Karida's home and reflects the warm energy they hope to share with knitters near and far.

~November~
Kokon Yarn and Eri Shimizu

East Meets West: The color blue is special in both the Netherlands and in Japan, where Michelle of Kokon Yarn and designer Eri are based. In their collaboration, East blends with West to celebrate this calming color.
