Michelle of Kokon collaborated with designer Eri Shimizu on two colorways — a deep blue and a blue speckle — for the Indie Untangled Where We Knit Yarn Club. For the club, dyers and designers create a colorway and an accompanying accessory pattern, drawing inspiration from various places where they whip out their works in progress:
The color blue is special in both the Netherlands and in Japan, where Michelle of Kokon Yarn and designer Eri are based. In their collaboration, East blends with West to celebrate this calming color.
Each colorway will be dyed on Bleu Speckle DK, a super soft 100% Superwash Merino. with 136 yards per 50g skein.
Use it to knit Eri's Hamono-Edamono Mittens, available on Ravelry, named after the old Japanese words meaning leaves and branches. The leaves are inspired by the Netherlands where Kokon is located and the branches by Japan where Eri lives. The pattern comes with two different mitt styles! Knit a matching pair or one of each pattern.
If you purchase Eri's pattern before December 4 Japan time, you will automatically receive a 20% discount.
This is a preorder. The yarn will ship in mid-January.
