Amélie collaborated with designer Marion Em Knits to create this colorway inspired by bright beach shacks in France for the second installment of the 2022 Indie Untangled Where We Knit Yarn Club. For the club, dyers and designers create a colorway and an accompanying accessory pattern, drawing inspiration from various places where they whip out their works in progress:
Amélie (Emilia & Philomene) and Marion are from two different parts of the world but are both used to knit close to the water. As soon as the spring begins, you can find grains of sand in the bottom of their projects bags. This picture was taken on a beach in the North of France, where hiding behind those colorful cabins is necessary to avoid the chilly wind of May.
This gently speckled colorway will be dyed on Emilia & Philomene Simone, which is comprised of 70% untreated organic wool and 30% linen, with a generous 509 yards per 100g skein of light fingering weight.
Use it to knit Marion’s Sable Hat, as seen on Ravelry, which is knit with the yarn held double, or a light weight spring/summer top.
